Biography
Yes it's true - I'm not originally from these shores. I started my design career in London at the tail end of the 80s. Starting out with a company called Fitch & Co I worked in the area of what was then called Corporate Identity.
Over the next ten years I worked for a variety of design groups, both big and small, mainly rebranding clients such as Bank of Ireland, Allied Domecq and Natwest Markets. I was then offered a job at Enterprise IG (now the largest branding company in the world). Here my two biggest clients were VW Group (the rebranding of Seat cars) and Eurobank (rebranding a large Greek private bank).
In 1997 I took up the position of Creative Director at Van de Roer design in Wellington, NZ. Emigration followed and my horizons broadened from branding to encompass packaging, marketing, new product development and advertising. I've also had the opportunity to work for some great Kiwi companies; Kapiti Cheeses, AMI Insurance, Blackwater Rafting, Geonuclear Sciences to name a few.
At this stage, I decided to do my own thing and I set up Creation to do what I do best - helping companies discover what makes them different and finding a way to express it to the market.
Over the last three years I've been lucky enough to work with companies in the US, Africa and the UK, and of course, here in New Zealand. Every project is a challenge but I still get a kick out of finding a solution that really works for people.
